Indian Iconic Women

“India can be said a free nation only, when a lonely girl walks into the streets without any fear”. – Mahatma Gandhi In the present days, a women can’t even walk freely, even at mid-day. The harsh incidents that are happening with the women have made their life fearsome. In a country where women were considered to be great, in the same country they are now treated as mere a lump of flesh. But has this really stopped women from moving up? No, there are many women who have cleared all their obstacles and have reached the peak position in their life. For instance, people thought that police job is only meant for men but Kiran Bedi, the first IPS officer of the country proved us wrong. She has spent almost 35 years in the police dept and prison services. She showed that women are no less than any men. Indira Gandhi, the first female prime minister also set a bench mark in politics. And she is considered to be one of the greatest PM of our country.  In the late 90’s, India was filled with terror. During those days, even men used to have fear coming out of their home. In such a time, one of the boldest women got the Miss World title: Aishwarya Rai. One should really appreciate her courage and efforts. She opened a new era for women in India. In India, cricket is considered to be a religion. But many women went on to the peak in many games, not only in cricket. Saina Nehwal, Sania Mirza ,PT Usha , Mary Kom. These ironic women made our India proud in the international level. People like Kiran Mazumdar Shaw, Indra Nooyi made their names in the fields of business. All these people showed that there is nothing that can’t be achieved. And women should not concentrate on her weak point. Well these people never thought as such. Hope many women come forward knowing their ability and achieve some good things for the society. And prove themselves like how all these did.       ———— ABOUT THE AUTHOR: This article is written by Vijayanand A J , our intern.
