Health Check-ups to be done at Home

Every human faces health problems in his life, but it is not important to visit a doctor for every health problem faced by you. Women have a myth that all problems can be cured by visiting a doctor but there are some check-ups which can be done with ease at your home. So isn’t it amazing that you can now check yourself at home without wasting your time and money visiting a doctor. It is also important for every women to get check-ups from a doctor but some check-ups which can be done at home are important too-

1. Self Breast Examination

It is important to do a breast examination so that it may help detect changes in them and report the doctor as soon as possible. To do such a test at home, you just need to stand upright with upper part of the body unclothed and look your breast in the mirror. Try to find changes or differences between both breast and also look for changes like dimpling, redness in skin or nipples.

2. HIV Test ( US only )

Human Immunodeficiency Virus ( HIV ) is nothing to ignore as this virus can lead to AIDS. There is only one approved test for HIV called “The Home Access HIV-1 Test System” . To do such test at home – Use your Personal Identification Number ( PIN )  with which you can send anonymously a blood sample to a lab for a professional testing.This test can also be kept totally confidential.

3. Check your Heart Rate

The number one killer of women is a heart disease. Checking your heart rate i.e pulse rate is really beneficial for women. To check your heart rate at home – Put your index or middle finger on the underside of your opposite wrist, just below the base of thumb. Count the rate for one minute. The normal pulse rate of an adult should be between 60 to 100 beats.

4. Monitor Blood Pressure

Hypertension or High Blood Pressure can be a major risk factor for heart disease. A home blood pressure monitor is a good to buy , especially if you already suffer from hypertension. Normal reading must be at or below 120/80.

5. Test for Urinary Tract Infections ( UTIs )

If you have a burning sensation while urinating it can be said that you suffer from UTI and you need to consult a doctor for treatment. If the problem left untreated it can spread into kidneys and may lead to more severe problem.
